Honoring the 120th Anniversary: André Leon Talley Shares His Vogue Story

When I was in high school, I made wallpaper from the fashion pages of Vogue for the Schiap-pink room I kept in my grandmother's house. In the early sixties, Vogue came out twice a month. I was so naive, I didn't think I could subscribe to the magazine, but in any case, every other Sunday after church, I enjoyed walking to the newsstand on the Duke University campus with my allowance to buy it. I would come home, tear out my favorite images, and pin-tack them to the walls. This was not my bedroom but a sanctuary, with a beautiful mahogany desk and modern sofa, that my grandmother had created for me—a place where I could read, listen to records, and escape to my own world. That world was papered with images from Vogue
One Sunday, on my way to East Campus, a group of white male students sped by, throwing rocks at me from the car. I kept walking—and it never stopped me from taking that walk to buyVogue twice a month

Summer Notes: Mellow Yellow

If you thought red was bold, well yellow is admittedly a tough one to pull off. If you’re feeling adventurous you could go full tilt with the yellow suit or even break it down into separates. Yellow trousers and sports jackets go well with shades of blue, black, white, and brown combinations. Still too daring? Try yellow shorts, footwear, or accessories such as ties, handbags, cuff links, wrist gear, etc. Still too much? Try muted shades of yellow or prints with some yellow in them. Subtle yellow accents work as well, like piping on a jacket. How loud or subtle you want to go should reflect what makes you comfortable.  Check the gallery out below for detailed examples of SS12 looks and yellow clad notes

Style Vice: On A Casual Note Casual

A smart casual dress code includes a variety of options for men. Smart casual dress is a step up from business casual, but not as dressy as formal work attire. Smart casual implies that you have kicked the dressing up a notch from business casual in a smart and well-pulled together look.
The smart casual look allows flexibility for personal taste in fashion and includes jackets, outfit-enhancing jewelry, dress pants, dress shirts, skirts, tailored sweaters, vests, ties, matching leather accessories, and leather pull on shoes and boots. Smart casual dressing is often adopted by the gentleman who wants an easy transaction from the office to drinks with the guys

Street Style: Blue Notes

Summer is a great time to shed the blacks in the back of your closets. Step out with some blue accents and printed pieces, even when you don’t feel like wearing brights. The dark blue will help you look more in season and perfectly accentuate your colored accessories

Sarah Jessica Parker To Play 'Vogue' Editor on 'Glee

BY PETER FROST

With the help of Anna Wintour, no less
Picking up where Carrie Bradshaw left off, Sarah Jessica Parker is set to play an editor of Vogue during her stint guest-starring on Glee this fall. Her character’s role, which seems to be a mentor to Chris Colfer’s character after his move to NYC, Glee showrunner Ryan Murphy revealed to Access Hollywood that SJP will be “running Vogue.com”.
However, not only will she be working at the hallowed halls of the magazine on the show, Vogue's real life EIC Anna Wintour is also set to help with the costuming of her character on the show. Murphy took to Twitter to announce the news, saying, “Guess who’s helping us with Sarah Jessica Parker’s costumes on GLEE? The amazing Anna Wintour!” Well, in that case, expect a plethora of sunglasses and a potential bob situation
